“California here we come” 

We spent 2 days at Disneyland in California. Atticus is a big fan of Disney/Pixar’s Cars and has been since he learned how to say “car”. He loves Lightning McQueen! Seeing Atticus walk into Radiator Springs in Cars Land and seeing the life-size cars was priceless.  

Both days we did Disney we arrived before the park opened, and there were long line ups.  There are 2 parks in Disneyland: Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park. 

Disney California Adventure Park 

Day 1 we walked straight into Cars Land.  We ate at Flo’s, shopped at Lizzy’s Curio shop and Sarge’s Surplus Hut. We rode on Mater’s tractors and Luigi’s cars. The best ride was Radiator Springs Racers which we managed to get a FASTPASS for,  so instead of lining up for 2 hours for the ride we walked onto the ride during a designated time. Since we arrived at the park early, we ended up going back to our hotel for the afternoon and we all napped. That same night we went back and saw Cars Land again with all the lights. 

Disneyland Park

Day 2 we ventured into the original park. We checked out Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Toon Town. We managed to squeeze in a handful of rides before the park got really busy. Atticus loved the submarine ride where we saw Nemo and Dory. I enjoyed our mid-day theatre show to rest our feet and sing along to Disney favourites. We couldn’t go back to the hotel because we were flying to Fiji that evening. 

I wanted to get a picture with Mickey but we missed the opportunity, so I guess we’ll have to go back.
