Hi Everyone
So we have arrived in Perth!
We have been making ourselves at home and we are really pleased with our new digs. It has a great backyard with lots of sun and shade! And, yes it also has a barbie for shrimp.
The inside of the house really reminds me of our place in Canada. The kitchen (pic below) does lack a dishwasher but Theresa and I are not strangers to doing dishes by hand! Theresa thinks the water is different here because it boils so fast. I’m thinking it has more to do with the house having a gas instead of an electric stove, haha…
Also, we only have a washer machine, no clothes dryer. Right now hanging stuff outside is not an issue, everything dries pretty quick in the 35-ish degree heat. Friends here have told us that we will miss a dryer once the weather starts to cool down later in the year.
The living / dining room is perfect for us and Atticus has found multiple locations where he can recreate Radiator Springs. While we are still working on getting Internet the TV does get 30 or so channels just from the Antenna which is all we will need. The Australian Open (tennis) is going on right and that dominates the airwaves…. The next big television event here will be “Hoges :The Paul Hogan​ Story” which looks brilliant!
Close to us is a huge park…. Atticus is figuring out all the outdoor workout equipment and is taking both Theresa and I out often for races, one of his favorite things on earth! We can see lots of people coming and going to the park from our house. It is a very popular place in the early mornings and evenings. While so far the heat is nothing we haven’t experienced at home people seem to hide out during the late morning early afternoon.

Hello Theresa, I hope you and your family have a wonderful year in Australia. What a fantastic experience for you all. My husband and I are presently here in Australia as well and then on to New Zealand – our trip of a lifetime! It is a lovely country and we are enjoying it very much.
