Our vacation to Sydney began Saturday, April 8 at 2 am. Taking the red-eye we all tried to sleep for the 4.5 hour flight. Sydney is 2 hours ahead of Perth so when we landed it was around 8 am. Then we took the train into the city to meet up with grandma. Reunited as a family of 4 we made our way to Manly beach for our Airbnb.
We stayed 5 days in Sydney. From Manly to Sydney CBD was an easy 20 minute ferry ride. On Sunday it cost $2.50, but all other days it is $7.80. A cab ride from CBD to Manly was around $50.
As tourists we toured the Opera House, rode the Hop on and Hop off bus and saw Bondi Beach.
We spent a rainy morning at the Powerhouse Museum which was really interactive for kids. Afterwards we went to Darling Harbour and walked through the Chinese Garden of Friendship then finished off the day with dinner in Chinatown.
Wow so fun! Atticus must have loved that big steam engine! XX
We’ve taken the Hop-on Hop-off bus in several places we’ve visited – most recently, in New Orleans. It’s a great way to learn about the city you are touring. The Chinese gardens look beautiful ! Sounds like have seen a lot of interesting sites. Such a great adventure. Hope everyone is well.
